Neville Chamberlain served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from May 1937 to May 1940. He is best known for his foreign policy of appeasement. He sought to conciliate Germany by signing the Munich Agreement in 1938, which handed over a portion of Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany, which was led by Hitler. At the time Chamberlain remarked, “Peace for our time.” Less than a year later, Hitler invaded Poland. Anyone who has read about & studied the history of World War Two should take a lesson from this & apply it to Putin, whose goal is to “reunite” those nations which once were part of the Soviet Union. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

I appreciate you added comment. I thought about a reference to Chamberlain's 'peace in our time,' but also didn't want to make my essay to very much longer ! The Timeline of History must never be ignored....

Thank you. I feel strongly that the education system in the United States needs to be strengthened, with emphasis on history (American & World), civics, & logic.
